Seniors Fall Prevention Workshop
Seniors fall prevention workshop – MONDAYS at 1pm from Sept 28 – Dec 7
There is a new fall prevention program being offered by the league starting on September 28th. There will be 10 sessions on Mondays at 1pm out of our hall (15504 76 Ave). Sessions are run by a Primary Care Alberta trained local volunteer senior and will be about an hour (with time after to socialize if you choose to). The workshop is a 10 session program (over 11 weeks because of skipping the Thanksgiving Monday holiday) and is TOTALLY FREE.
This program was developed by the University of Alberta. From there Primary Care Alberta takes over and, using this program, trains local seniors as team leaders who volunteer their time. Primary Care also assists with the 1st day assessments (and helps the host leagues too). Community leagues then facilitate the program and gratefully the Rio Terrace Community League was asked to host!
